had a wonderful long weekend as i went on leave last friday. what would have completed my vacation was my fiance, too bad he wasnt able to come home. anyways.. it was my nephews birthday and niece's girl scout investiture. had to attend and be her sponsor so i had to get up soooo early like 4:30am, so that we can make it to her 3-town-away school by 7:30am. nothing really exciting, well thats an understatement. it was actually drop dead boring.. but i had to pretend for my niece or i would have broken her heart. she was happy about the event, so must i. at 9:30am it finally ended!! so from there, we met my sis and her two boys together with my folks at the mall. we promised to bring Migi (my ever so loveable nephew who looks like me!!) to (drum rolls..) jollibee (nyek) for his bday breakfast. thereafter, we set off to the supermarket for grocery, one of my fave activities. we left the mall by 12noon and arrived home 30 min after.. it was on our way home that made one of the scariest days of my life...

so there were we.. my father was driving. hes kinda old already and have some sorta cloudy vision but he claims he can still drive. and if you ever try claiming otherwise, you'll just end up in a flaring fight with him (he's temperamental actually). And drive he did.. somewhere in an underconstruction road we were overtaken by this speeding civic.. from a far, i already saw that car slowing down while we kept on with an average speed. i then felt a little uneasy already as my father didn't seem to have not noticed it. And so my instinct was right. i told my father in a rather loud but calm voice to slow down.. and, in as if, perked up by my warning, he had to abruptly step on the break.. shocking enough to awaken my mother and sister, but not enough to disturb the kids from their deepening sleep. to make the scenario worse, we were approaching a hole! my father made a slight right turn to the opposite side of the road to avoid the hole. and to our surprise, a quarrying truck was right in front of us so he had to make a massive turn back to the right. we almost fell down the 13ft underconstruction road. had it not been to my father's steady hands, that day might have turned out to be the worst day in my family's history. times like this make me believe even more that God does really exist and so do His Angels...

The after effect...
My father managed to drive in as if nothing happened.. we were all to shocked to comment or anything, so we let it go.. i was already teary so i put myself together because i didnt want to break down in tears for that will surely hurt my father and scare him all the more.. the incident was bad enough for him to bear, i didnt want to make him feel worse letting him know how it affected me. my sister and mother, i guess, felt and thought the same way as they were both silent as well..

Back to normal...
Thank God we're home.. it was there when we (my sis, and mother) expressed it out. we had to let the heavy experience out anyways.. we talked about it once, let our other sister know about it and that was it, back to normal.. we prepared for my nephews real celebration.. it was simple, just for the family, he's gonna have a party in school as well anyways.. dont have to go in details but i just gotta say, i over ate again! especially the cake! hehe.. the following day was my brother in law's birthday.. (what a weekend huh?) what's different about the celebration was that, we had a boodle fight lunch!! and so again, over ate!!
